1. To
preach the
Gospel to
the Jewish
people.
Romans
1:16:
"I
am not ashamed
of the gospel,
because
it is the
power of
God for
the salvation
of everyone
who believes:
first for
the Jew,
then for
the Gentile.
For in the
gospel a
righteousness
from God
is revealed,
a righteousness
that is
by faith
from first
to last,
just as
it is written:
The righteous
will live
by faith."
2.
To restore the Jewish roots of the faith. Romans 11:17-18: "If some of the
branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been
grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive
root, do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not
support the root, but the root supports you."
3.
To Bless Israel. Genesis 12:3: "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever
curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
4.
To see all Israel saved. Romans 11:25: "I do not want you to be ignorant of this
mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a
hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all
Israel will be saved, as it is written: The deliverer will come from Zion; he
will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I
take away their sins."
